From the Blue Ridge Nest

From the Blue Ridge Nest was founded by Amanda McKim, whose love for travel and creativity began long before she ever imagined starting a blog. Raised in an Air Force family, Amanda spent her childhood moving from coast to coast and even overseas. Some of her happiest memories come from exploring places like Turkey, Germany, and Belgium — experiences that shaped her curiosity and appreciation for adventure.

After her father retired, Amanda’s family planted roots in New Hampshire. It’s where she finished school, met her husband, and began raising their three daughters. In 2022, she and her family made a bold leap from the snowy White Mountains to the (much) warmer Blue Ridge Mountains, embracing a new chapter filled with fresh inspiration.

Creativity has always been part of Amanda’s DNA. Though she chose to study Business Administration instead of interior design, she never stopped finding ways to create beauty and joy — planning baby showers for friends, birthday parties for her children, and charity events in her community. Over the years, she’s heard countless times, “You should do this for a living.”

So here’s to all those voices of encouragement. From the Blue Ridge Nest is Amanda’s way of finally sharing what’s been in her heart — a place for celebration inspiration, family travel ideas, and the joy of creating meaningful moments.
